Origin Pre-Workout (Alpha): practical guide for training, recovery, and everyday nutrition

Origin Pre-Workout (Alpha) is listed as a Pre-workout. Below is a realistic, label-first guide to how people typically use products in this category, what to look for, and how to fit it into a sensible health and fitness routine.

Price (at time of import): $16.49

What it is

Origin Pre-Workout (Alpha) is a sports nutrition product sold to support common fitness goals such as meeting daily nutrition targets, improving training consistency, and making intake more convenient. Exact ingredients, allergens, and nutrition values vary by flavour and batch—always verify on the product label before use.

Who it’s for (and who should be cautious)

  • Good fit: people training regularly, busy schedules, or anyone wanting a convenient way to support their overall intake.
  • Use extra care: anyone with kidney/liver disease, cardiovascular disease, uncontrolled blood pressure, or those taking prescription medications. If unsure, ask your GP or pharmacist.

How to use it in a “real life” routine

Use the label directions as your starting point. If this is your first time using this type of product, start with the smallest suggested serve and see how you feel for a few days before increasing.

  • Around workouts: many people take sports nutrition products pre- or post-training for convenience.
  • On rest days: use it only if it helps you hit your daily targets (for example, protein or total calories).
  • With food: it’s fine to pair with whole-food meals—think fruit, yoghurt, oats, or a balanced lunch.

What to check on the label before you buy

  • Serving size: compare “per serving” and “per 100 g” so you’re not misled by scoop sizes.
  • Allergens: especially dairy, soy, gluten, and nuts (varies by product).
  • Added stimulants/sweeteners: relevant if you’re sensitive to caffeine, sugar alcohols, or certain sweeteners.
  • Third-party testing: if you compete in sport, look for independent testing or informed-sport style certification where available.

Evidence-informed expectations

Supplements can be helpful, but the big drivers of results are still: consistent training, adequate sleep, enough total calories (not too little), and enough protein and fibre from food. Think of Origin Pre-Workout (Alpha) as a convenience tool—not a shortcut.

Practical recommendations to get better results

  • Set a clear goal: fat loss, maintenance, or muscle gain. Your supplement choice should match the goal.
  • Prioritise protein distribution: aim to spread protein across meals rather than “all at dinner”.
  • Strength train progressively: track lifts and aim for small improvements (load, reps, or form) over time.
  • Support recovery: hydration, fruits/vegetables, and a consistent bedtime often outperform “extra” supplements.

  1. BigDog

I’ve got the apple flavor. Tastes nice and has a good kick, but the powder is just a solid brick. I am having to stab it with a wooden spoon just to release bits of the powder. Maybe I just got a bad batch.

  2. lozza57

I have order this multiple times now and all I can say is nothing else compares. it mixes well, tastes great and gives you the kick before you train. I go in the morning at 6am before work, and this gets me up and running by the time I hit the gym. great product and a great price, will keep on buying till they bring something even better out.

  3. MrLeeigh

Overall 4/5. On a cut, Blue Raspberry Fizz gives clean focus, big pump, zero crash – easily a 5-star flavor and product. Due to it being out-of-stock I had to grab Strawberry Laces instead… BIG MISTAKE… flavor was rough, like chemical strawberry with a tobacco/ashtray finish. Performance is the same, but taste matters. Skip Laces, secure Blue Raspberry.

  4. Pafia

The pre workout itself is honestly the best boost one needs to go to the gym after a long day of work or just in general, but recently they have been solid bricks that need breaking down with a fork, takes about 5/10 mins of hard scraping to get 2 scoops worth of powder, i need more but I’m scared to buy any as it’s too much labour

  5. Lou77

I have tried so many different brands and the blue razz fizz from origin is the only one that I actually like enough to be able to use. Works within 15 mins for me. No others compare to this.

  6. Gok

I wouldn’t buy this. The last two times I’ve bought it, it’s been a brick inside due to moisture. Poor quality control

  7. Robgrove

The pre workout arrived as others say in a solid block. And after taking it I felt really nauseous I thought I was going to throw up in the gym, so I think two scoops is maybe too much for a mere mortal like me

  8. zamsara

Have tried pretty much all the pre-workout supplements over the past 20 years or so and all in all this is by far the best in terms of performance, taste and value for both weightlifting, calesthetics / CrossFit style workouts and cycling. Excellent for high intensity training but also for endurance.
Improved my 10km sprint on a WattBike by around 5-8% without spiking the heartrate too much – 2 scoops drank over a 20 minute period prior to starting (rather than shotting it), really noticable effect.
For endurance, 2 scoops before over 20 minutes as above, then I mix one scoop in with an electrolyte mix (2x 1 litre) for a much improved <2hr 50km, averaging around 28-30 kph with the occasional sprint to break things up.
For weights – I've found that 2 scoops 20 mins before as above but with a dose of creatine added and then during the workout electrolyte mix with BCAA and a scoop of this is a magic cocktail. I'm 73kg, 44 years old and formerly a serious lifter; these days less so but really helps squeeze out confident reps at 70-85kg on the bench.
For bodyweight stuff, I do rounds of 10 pull ups, 10 dips, 10 press ups, 10 squats on repeat – its brutal but again I've found this dosing is a game changer and helps me grind out a few extra reps before bailing.
Tastes great, acts quickly – yes you will get some skin tingles but once you realise the benefit of this you'll come to love it! Don't mix with other caffine products / boosters or you'll end up having a disco meltdown.
100% recommended, my favourite product from MyProtein

  9. Nas

The pre workout is good with all the necessary ingredients at maximum dosage.

  10. Tom

In general, this is a great product. Sufficient doses of the active ingredients so it actually works. And usually it tastes good too (blue raspberry, watermelon, orange and mango) apart from the peach rings flavour which is actually foul. Barely tastes of peaches, and has a very strong solvent flavour, like super glue. Honestly wondering if I got a bad batch. But it still works so I’m still drinking it lol. Also the orange and mango one used to be great but they changed the recipe and it’s worse now, which is annoying.
