THE Pre-Workout: practical guide for training, recovery, and everyday nutrition
THE Pre-Workout is listed as a Pre-workout. Below is a realistic, label-first guide to how people typically use products in this category, what to look for, and how to fit it into a sensible health and fitness routine.
Price (at time of import): $18.99
What it is
THE Pre-Workout is a sports nutrition product sold to support common fitness goals such as meeting daily nutrition targets, improving training consistency, and making intake more convenient. Exact ingredients, allergens, and nutrition values vary by flavour and batch—always verify on the product label before use.
Who it’s for (and who should be cautious)
- Good fit: people training regularly, busy schedules, or anyone wanting a convenient way to support their overall intake.
- Use extra care: anyone with kidney/liver disease, cardiovascular disease, uncontrolled blood pressure, or those taking prescription medications. If unsure, ask your GP or pharmacist.
How to use it in a “real life” routine
Use the label directions as your starting point. If this is your first time using this type of product, start with the smallest suggested serve and see how you feel for a few days before increasing.
- Around workouts: many people take sports nutrition products pre- or post-training for convenience.
- On rest days: use it only if it helps you hit your daily targets (for example, protein or total calories).
- With food: it’s fine to pair with whole-food meals—think fruit, yoghurt, oats, or a balanced lunch.
What to check on the label before you buy
- Serving size: compare “per serving” and “per 100 g” so you’re not misled by scoop sizes.
- Allergens: especially dairy, soy, gluten, and nuts (varies by product).
- Added stimulants/sweeteners: relevant if you’re sensitive to caffeine, sugar alcohols, or certain sweeteners.
- Third-party testing: if you compete in sport, look for independent testing or informed-sport style certification where available.
Evidence-informed expectations
Supplements can be helpful, but the big drivers of results are still: consistent training, adequate sleep, enough total calories (not too little), and enough protein and fibre from food. Think of THE Pre-Workout as a convenience tool—not a shortcut.
Practical recommendations to get better results
- Set a clear goal: fat loss, maintenance, or muscle gain. Your supplement choice should match the goal.
- Prioritise protein distribution: aim to spread protein across meals rather than “all at dinner”.
- Strength train progressively: track lifts and aim for small improvements (load, reps, or form) over time.
- Support recovery: hydration, fruits/vegetables, and a consistent bedtime often outperform “extra” supplements.
FAQs
What is THE Pre-Workout?
THE Pre-Workout is a pre-workout sold for general health and fitness goals. Always check the label on the product page for exact ingredients and serving details.
Who is THE Pre-Workout best for?
It may suit people who struggle to meet nutrition targets from food alone (e.g., protein intake) or who want a convenient option around training. If you have medical conditions or take medications, check with your clinician.
How do I take THE Pre-Workout?
Follow the manufacturer’s directions on the label. Start with the minimum suggested serve to assess tolerance, and avoid stacking multiple new supplements at once.
Can I take it every day?
Many people use sports nutrition products daily, but this depends on your goals, total diet, and how you tolerate the product. Use it to complement food, not replace it.
Is THE Pre-Workout safe if I’m older or on medication?
Safety depends on the exact ingredients and your health profile. If you’re pregnant/breastfeeding, have kidney or liver disease, cardiovascular issues, or take prescription medicines, discuss it with your doctor or pharmacist first.
Health note: This article is general information only and isn’t medical advice. Supplements aren’t a substitute for a balanced diet. If you’re pregnant, breastfeeding, have a medical condition, or take prescription medicines, check with your doctor or pharmacist before starting anything new.

MARK –
Genuinely the worst pre I have ever tasted.
Takes some mind games to pluck up the courage to neck it and tye after taste knocks you for six.
Bring back the pre workout in the bags as they were much better

i’ve been trying this for around 2 months now, every day before my workout. and i personally find the taste hard to bear, and overall it doesn’t give the boost i would expect a preworkout to give.

water

This pre workout mix is fabulous! It gives me a boost, which is the best way to describe it, literally all day. I can tell the days when I haven’t had it by feeling groggy and lethargic. The taste of strawberry kiwi is spur to say the least. I mix with water and it mixes brilliantly, but the taste is pretty awful in my opinion. Overall I would recommend if you need a boost for a workout.
Goes Well With:
Water, a hose peg and a straw, definitely a straw.

Lots of vitamins and goodies with each scoop.
Does the job.
Barely any jitters (not too strong)
however, the packaging is terrible.
You pop open the lid and so much pre-workout is wasted because the product gets into the lid, once you open it so much mess comes out. be prepared to clean up after yourself every time you use it if you are a traveller like me.
Unless you keep it perfectly still all the time you will have problems.
Flavour-wise it’s okay. I got the kiwi and strawberry. But I mix mine in with other drinks and so the taste disappears
Who knows maybe it’s just the one they sent me?

tastes SO bad BUT just mix a scoop with like 100ml water and drink it before you can taste it for an insane energy boost and pump for your chest/back/leg days
Goes Well With:
pain and tears

This pre-workout has a good taste and is effective in providing me with a boost in order to hit those PR’s and generally throughout training. Originally I bought this product as it seemed to be the best that was offered from MyProtein however at the same time I also had a standard MyProtein pre-workout mix. This is where there is a slight issue. Pre-workout draws in water making it clumpy and hard. This “pro” version does not contain silica gel packets that absorb moisture however the standard version does and therefore I found that it was much easier using the standard version. That being said this is still a great product but is why it scored low on mixability. I would like to see the inclusion of some sort of anti-moisture agent in the future.

Not just with this product but with many others, MP seems to be in the habit of making unnecessary changes which ruin what was previously a very good product.
I have used MP for 12yrs and previously used them for 100% of the products I bought. Nowadays that is closer to 50% and declining month by month. The company as a whole is rapidly going downhill and need to just consistently keep their products the same.

Ordered because I saw it got good reviews on some external websites, but don’t believe the hype. The tub arrived heavily distended because of pressure.
Upon opening the product I found the contents are a brown clumpy horrible mess that seems to be less of a powder, more a paste/putty consistency. It smells horrendous and I attempted to mix it and get a result of a glass of brown unappealing liquid that neither looked like or smelled like “blue raspberry”
Not sure if I got a bad batch or if this is how the product is supposed to be… but I feel if this is the best MP can do I’ll go with a rival product that looks and tastes better

Honestly worst preworkout I’ve tried. Generally speaking love the MP range – blue raspberry creatine and clear whey are great. The preworkout has made me sick two nights in a row. Tastes dreadful and artificial. Will be binning and sticking with a different brand.
